Terms & Conditions
Last updated 10 September 2026. These terms apply whenever you book driving lessons with us — by phone, WhatsApp, email or through this website.
1. Your licence
You must hold a current, valid provisional (or full) driving licence for every lesson, and you must tell your instructor about any change to your licence, health or eyesight that could affect your driving.
2. Cancelling or rescheduling a lesson
Please give at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or move a lesson or a test-day booking, by calling your instructor directly. Lessons or test appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice are chargeable in full.
3. Block bookings
Block bookings are paid in full in advance and are non-refundable, but they are transferable to another of our instructors teaching the same transmission (manual or automatic). All hours in a block must be used within 6 months of your first lesson. Current prices are always those shown on our pricing page at the time of booking.
4. Payments
The school is responsible only for block payments made directly to the school by cash or debit/credit card. Our instructors are self-employed; payments made to an instructor personally are a matter between you and them. We do not offer credit.
5. Switching between manual and automatic
A block booking applies to one transmission. If you switch from manual to automatic (or back) part-way through a block by agreement, lessons already taken are re-charged at the full hourly rate.
6. Lesson records
Your appointment card (or booking confirmation) is your receipt for pre-paid lessons — keep it safe, as pre-paid lessons can't be transferred without it.
7. Use of the school car for your test
We reserve the right to decline the use of a school car for a practical test if, in your instructor's professional judgement, your driving is not yet of a safe standard. This protects you from a wasted test fee as much as it protects the car.
Test-day car hire is £150 at local test centres, and includes pick-up from home, a warm-up lesson before your test, use of the car during the test, and the drive home afterwards. Tests booked at centres outside our usual area are quoted on request. The DVSA's own test fee is separate and paid by you when you book on gov.uk.
8. During the practical test
While you are driving on a practical test you are responsible for the vehicle (the examiner is not). In the event of an accident during the test you may be liable for the insurance excess, up to £320.
9. Conduct and safety
Your instructor may end a lesson without refund if you are unfit to drive (for example through alcohol, drugs or exhaustion) or behave in a way that makes teaching unsafe.
10. Complaints
If something isn't right, tell us — call 07939 840 460 or email drivingschool247@gmail.com and we'll do our best to put it right promptly. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
