Not at all; it's one of the most common reasons pupils choose us. Lessons are strictly one-to-one, we start on the quietest streets on the Island, and your written lesson plan moves at whatever pace keeps you comfortable.

Where do Isle of Dogs pupils sit the practical test?

Most E14 pupils test at Goodmayes, with Wanstead as an alternative. Either way, the run up the A12 from Docklands is part of your training well before test day.

Do you do intensive courses in Docklands?

Yes — 4, 5 and 7-day courses run in E14 like everywhere else we teach. You'll need your theory test passed first, and intensive bookings need around 10 days' notice with a deposit to confirm the dates.

What learning to drive in Docklands is really like

Docklands pupils range from City workers who've never needed a car to nervous learners who've had a bad experience elsewhere. Your first lesson doubles as an assessment; from it we agree a written plan with realistic milestones, and we review it together every few lessons so the course adapts to you rather than the other way round.

Where we start, and where we finish

First lessons use the calm grids around Millwall Park and Island Gardens; by the end of your course you'll be reading the Westferry Road roundabouts, tunnel approaches and multi-lane exits at commuter hour without breaking conversation.
